National landscape day

From the eremitic landscape of Paolo Uccello to the pietre paesine: double visit appointment for the National Landscape Day

For the National Landscape Day of March 14th, Galleria dell’Accademia of Florence and Opificio delle Pietre Dure Museum organize a guided tour with focus by specialists on masterpieces of their respective collections.

The appointment is at 11 a.m. in the hall of the Colossus of Galleria dell’Accademia, in front of the painting Scenes of Scene di vita eremitica (Tebaide) di Paolo Uccello, for an in-depth study on the theme of the eremitic landscape led by Alessandra Malquori. The visit will continue to the adjacent Museum of the Opificio delle Pietre Dure with the illustration of panels in hard stone representing landscape scenes, as well as with a focus on the “paesine”, particular stones with layers of various colors that suggest the image of a painted landscape. The focus will be taken care of by Federica Cappelli. Afterwards, it will be possible to visit the exhibition “The Twentieth Century for the Museum of the Opificio delle Pietre Dure”, accompanied by one of the curators, Annalisa Innocenti.

Both guided tours are free, included in the regular admission ticket to the two Museums. It is strongly recommended to book the visit by sending an email to ga-afi.comunicazione@beniculturali.it by Wednesday, March 13th. It is also recommended to present yourself at Galleria dell’Accademia with adequate notice if you intend to visit the entire Museum, as well as taking part in the guided tour.
