A trip to Italy of museums through the story of their directors

The meetings organized by the Director of Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence, Cecilie Hollberg, “The Italian Museums present themselves” comes on the third date: “After the Este and Urbino duchy – says the Galleria Director – we are going to discover, this month, palaces and royal collections! It is with great pleasure that I invite you to participate in this new virtual journey, dedicated to the Royal Museums of Turin, a city museum network that offers its visitors the extraordinary experience of a unique journey through history, art, architecture and nature “.

Enrica Pagella is an employee of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and has been directing Musei Reali of Turin since 2015. She graduated in history of medieval art in Turin and received her research doctorate with a thesis dedicated to jewelery, then focusing her studies on Romanesque and Gothic sculpture. Since the end of the 1980s he has carried out most of his activity in the field of museum heritage management, curating exhibitions and catalogs. From 1988 to 1998 she was in charge of the Civic Art Museum of Modena, implementing the reorganization of the collections and the reopening to the public. From 1999 to 2015 he directed Museo Civico in Palazzo Madama in Turin, coordinating the restoration, re-functionalization, reorganization and reopening project to the public. As an adjunct professor, he taught History of Medieval Art and Museology at the Universities of Bologna and Turin.
