The list of works temporarily absent from the Museum for conservation reasons or because they are on loan for exhibitions, is published here.

For reasons related to transport logistics or maintenance work, the works may not be visible even on the days immediately preceding or following the exhibition dates.

The list is updated twice a week.

Works excluded from loan

The list of works excluded from loan by the Galleria dell’Accademia di Firenze, is published in accordance with the Ministerial Decree of 29 January 2008, containing  the Guidelines for the loan of works of art, as updated in 2023 (D.M. del 29 gennaio 2008, “Linee Guida per i prestiti di opere d’arte”).

In this regard, it should be noted that the technical and scientific assessment of the identity of the works and the appropriateness of granting loans is the responsibility of the Director of the Gallery, after consultation with the Scientific Committee, where applicable. This is without prejudice to reasons preventing loans related to the security and conservation conditions of the works.
