The Galleria dell’Accademia di Firenze celebrates the 550th anniversary of the birth of Michelangelo Buonarroti with ‘L’Eterno Contemporaneo. Michelangelo 1475 – 2025‘, a project that has started on March 6th, 2025 and will develop throughout the year through a rich program of events and initiatives, designed to highlight the extraordinary relevance of one of the most significant protagonists of the Renaissance. His artistic vision, his innovative spirit and the expressive power of his works continue to exert a profound influence on artists, scholars and the public of every era. Michelangelo, even today, inspires new reflections and interpretations.

On Monday, November 10th, at 6:00 PM, the theatrical reading “Non ha la par cosa tutto il mondo. I Prigioni e la travagliata impresa della tomba di Giulio II” returns to the Galleria dell’Accademia di Firenze, following its resounding success in June, featuring Tomaso Montanari and actor Francesco Gori.

Created specifically for the L’Eterno Contemporaneo. Michelangelo 1475 – 2025 exhibition, with which the Gallery is celebrating the 550th anniversary of the birth of one of the greatest figures of the Renaissance. the performance offers a compelling theatrical narrative, constructed using the words of Michelangelo himself and his early biographers, taking the audience to the heart of one of the most complex and fascinating events of his career: the long, tormented construction of the tomb of Pope Julius II.
