“Nel segno di Apollo”: series of meetings between art and music
The Galleria dell’Accademia di Firenze, in collaboration with the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory, is organizing a series of meetings between art and music: “Nel segno di Apollo”, three events to offer visitors an original interpretation of some works of art, also strengthening the bond with the Museum of Musical Instruments.
Each meeting, lasting approximately an hour and a half, will be dedicated to a double reading of a work of art preserved at the Galleria dell’Accademia. The museum’s art historians will delve into the historical-artistic aspects, while a musicologist specialist will make a historical-musical analysis of the work. In particular, the representation of musical instruments and their symbolism will be brought to the public’s attention. Each meeting will conclude with a short musical performance by students of the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory, directly linked to the historical period or deriving from a musical reflection on the work of art.
