#Domenicalmuseo Sunday, March 1st, 2026

On Sunday, March 1st Galleria dell’Accademia di Firenze, Museo Nazionale del Bargello, Museo delle Cappelle Medicee and the Complesso di Orsanmichele will open free of charge to the public on the occasion of the #domenicalmuseo, the initiative of the Ministry of Culture which every first Sunday of the month promotes free access to museums and state archaeological parks.

At the Galleria dell’Accademia di Firenze it will also be possible to admire the Triptych by Spinello Aretino whose restoration, recently completed, has been presented in a new temporary exhibition. The work, dated 1391, has returned to shine after an important conservative intervention and is at the center of a dedicated exhibition which documents the phases of the restoration and the diagnostic investigations, offering the public an in-depth look at the protection and study work that accompanies the life of museum collections.

On the same day it will also be possible to visit the collections of the Museo Nazionale del Bargello for free, with the most important collection of Italian sculpture in the world; the Museo delle Cappelle Medicee, with the mausoleum of the Medici family and the New Sacristy by Michelangelo; the Complesso di Orsanmichele, a symbolic place of Florentine history and an extraordinary treasure chest of Renaissance sculpture.

On the occasion of the #domenicalmuseo it will not be possible to make reservations.
